It is a good thing Falluja is almost over because it would be pretty embarassing to be trying to re-capture an entire city over a year after you declared major combat operations over. That kind of crap could cost you an ellection. No? really? no one will notice? oh...never mind.

FALLUJA, Iraq (CNN) -- U.S. forces have dropped bunker-busting bombs overnight on what military officials believe was a huge underground complex used by insurgents in Falluja, military officials said early Sunday, as U.S. and Iraqi officials said the effort to secure the restive city was nearly complete.
Iraq's National Security Adviser Kasim Dawood said Saturday the assault was "almost finished," and U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said Falluja was no longer a "safe haven for terrorists."
Speaking of oprations in Falluja. There is an ex-Marine named Bing West writing some fairly interesting stuff for Slate.com about the Marines there and the tech they use to fight the insurgents.
